The Shawline Power Cord Mains Cable is a high specification cable – designed, hand-built and rigorously tested in the UK. An updated and reworked version of the previous Power Chord, now featuring an improved, thicker stranded conductor and a redesigned, higher gauge braid wire shield. It took us a long time to produce our first mains cable (see inset). We had experimented for years, but couldn’t produce consistent results from system to system. It took the development and production of the Chord Signature speaker cable for us to understand how to make a power cable that would produce the same improvement regardless of the system.  The crucial area is the shielding, which needs to be effective to very high frequencies.

We heartily recommend all hi-fi owners experiment with this product .  High frequency interference in the domestic environment is growing and shielded power cables are an effective way of dealing with it. Fitting and application:

This Chord Company mains power cable is fitted with a 13-amp fuse and is intended for use only with hi-fi and audio-visual components.
