Designing a fibre unit for hi-fi systems is a challenge. Because fibre is used in IT systems primarily for speed, and hi-fi doesn’t need fibre for speed, it needs it for clarity! In fact reducing the comms speed of the MC01 to 100Mb/s improves the sound quality of a network player. This is possible simply by setting a couple of switches. Internally, the construction of MC01 is to Enterprise Standards and this extends to the massive Ethernet magnetics that couple to the copper part of the network. We do not suggest to use any other power supply’s for Melco or Adot than Plixir due to limited coverage of the warranty.
The kits are available in five different Versions:

The MC00 (03) kit
This comes with MC03 (1x) & MC04 (2x). Only as part of MC03 & MC 04 or as upgrade with Plixir available.
The MC01 kit
Supplied as a complete kit with a universal voltage power adapter in EU fitting. Not in stock as rarely used. On demand only.
The MC02 kit
Supplied with a linear plug-top power supply that ensures no additional noise is generated. EU mains plug versions 230V AC.
The MC03 kit
The ultimate solution, MC00 supplied with a custom build Plixir BDC Elite 5V 2A low noise linear power supply with 3 stage noise reduction. EU 230V AC only.
The MC04 kit
The ultimate solution, two MC00 Adot’s supplied with a custom build Plixir BDC Elite 2x 5V 2A low noise linear power supply with 3 stage noise reduction. EU 230V AC only.
